Description
Begin your love affair with Stranded Colourwork Knitting. This workshop is designed by Pru Raymond as an introduction to this popular colourwork technique also known as Fair Isle. Learn to read charts, select colours and tension yarns in one and two hands. Leave with confidence to cast on your first Fair Isle project.
Materials required
• Needles: 4 mm/ 80cm circular knitting needle or DPNs
• Yarn: 2 x 50g balls/cakes of 8ply/DK yarn in solid/ semi solid colours with a high contrast (ie. one white/ very light coloured yarn and one or mid - dark coloured yarn)
Skill level:
This workshop is suitable for novice knitters who can knit and purl and follow a basic pattern but would now like to learn to work with two colours at a time. It is also suitable for knitters who have experienced issues with tangled yarns, uneven tension and other issues when knitting Fair Isle patterns and would like to improve their skills and the quality of their colourwork projects.
